It's all go!

Well, I've had a couple of months off from keeping this blog. I'd like to say I was too busy to update it, but the truth is that I've been trying to SEEM too busy! That said, it has been a busy time! I'm moving house in a month, my best friend is now a father (making me a pseudo-uncle), I've booked flights for our holiday back to Canada in July, I've been trained on Policing in a boat so I now get to pull over rich bitches on Loch Lomond in my wee boat with its blue light, I've spent almost 19 hours on hold to Virgin Media....... (Sky, here we come!).

BUT, despite all that, I really should have put something on here, so here is my thought for the month............

If you happen to have someone you've neglected recently, maybe someone you meant to pop round and say hi to but didn't get the chance, make a point of doing it next time you're free. It only takes a minute. Rather than updating a blog, watching whatever you have saved on Sky+ or playing another level on the latest computer game, pick up the phone or jump in the car and go say hello to someone you haven't seen in a while, because there's no worse feeling than going to that door to be told that person isn't there any more...........

Fuzz-tastic!

So, tonight was date night..... I had to work on that revenue spinning, guilt ridden, mass marketed day that comes around 2 weeks into February, so I was warned that I had better organise something for Friday night. Saturday would maybe have been better, but given that I'm spending the weekend in an Aberdeen hotel without her, I thought I'd better pull my finger out.

Anyway, I managed to book 2 seats at the Grosvenor Cinema on Ashton Lane to see...... you guessed it...... HOT FUZZ!!

I was as happy as a priest in a....... no...... wait........ can't say that...... this is a family show....... erm......... happy as a.......... well, I was happy as a happy thing! I managed to giggle like a little girl (or Brian) for the duration of the film.

Unfortunately, my sentiment wasn't shared. Apparently it was 'stoopid' and not funny. "Are the two not the same?" I thought to myself......... It seems not. Next time I'll let her choose the film. Chick flick hell, here we come!

Me, myself and I....

Well, I've been back at work for a whole week, and I found out that after 2 months of working without a partner, I've got AT LEAST 1 more month of it. I wouldn't mind so much if I worked somewhere a little busier so there were other people to talk to, but when I'm on duty I'm the only person there. To be honest, it's beginning to wear on me a little. I mean, the conversation is superb, but I find that I never seem to want to oppose any of my opinions meaning that any kind of healthy debate isn't an option. I may seek to induce some form of multiple personality disorder to liven things up!!

In other news, I'm able to breathe again which has been a big help to my day to day operation. I'm also planning a wee trip to Aberdeen next month to compete in a works tourney and visit some friends. I also managed to get time off for the summer so we can head back to Canada. I can't wait!!

Jack is back!

Well, back to work tomorrow........ but TONIGHT...... tonight we see the return of Jackl Bauer in day 6 of '24'. It's a 2 hour special to kick off, so I'll be incommunicado come 9pm!

In other news, I'm hoping to get the summer holiday planned over the next month or so. We're heading back to Canada to visit Jen's family again, but this time in July when the weather means I'll be able to show off my legs! I don't know if Canada is ready for that, and one thing's for sure, the place'll never be the same after the experience! I just need to make sure I Can get the time off work and raise the money for the flights!

I went and got myself a haircut today as well. Nice neat hair to go with my newly sprouted beard. The City Barber in Glasgow is my salon of choice these days. The banter is always good and the aussie addition to the staff is rather easy on the eye........

Off to iron the uniform then.........

Start as you mean to go on!

Well, I'm having a whale of a time at the moment. Still recovering after surgery to my nose, and only 1 weekend to go until I start back work. I'm trying to make the most of the time off, but I'm sorry to say that the after effects of the surgery have just left me feeling a little drained.

On a more positive note, I should get my newly repaired computer back next week meaning I don't have to wrestle the laptop from the girlfriend any more! Also, the impending release of the new Simon Pegg film, HOT FUZZ (see below) has me quite excited! Looks like this could be a British production to rival the awesome Super Troopers, and if it's half as funny as the trailer promises, I imagine I'll need to take a change of underwear to the cinema!

HOT FUZZ

Well, better head off here as the other half is cleaning and drawing me looks.......
